Insomnia is the bar-club hybrid at the far (Perimeter Road) end of Walking Street, on the corner of Tinio Street where the pedestrian stretch of Fields Avenue runs out. You can't miss the frontage: dark blue paint, two big glowing moons, and a queue of trikes outside at three in the morning. Inside it's hot-pink walls, black banquette couches, a pitch-black ceiling dotted with stars, and a raised centre stage with a fireman's pole that the dancers slide down from the floor above. It's been trading under the Insomnia name for well over a decade and, as of August 2026, it's still one of the last lights on.

What makes Insomnia different from the go-go bars either side of it is the music and the hours. The DJ leans on 80s and 90s rock and pop — you'll hear Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses rather than the EDM thump of the bigger rooms — and it stays open until around five, so it fills up between one and three when everywhere else is stacking chairs. There are rotating sets of bikini dancers on stage, others working the floor and hosting tables, and themed costume nights through the week (a country-and-western night is a regular). It's a music lounge with dancers rather than a pure disco, and that's exactly the point of it.

Prices are Walking Street mid-range: a local beer around ₱150–200 and ladies' drinks somewhere in the ₱350–450 band (Aug 2026, check the menu). There's usually no cover charge, though listings on this are inconsistent and events can change it. Some visitors do report the door staff being firm about the dress code — leave the singlet and flip-flops at the hotel — and, on a slow night, being asked for ladies' drinks a bit more eagerly than you'd like. A friendly "not tonight, thanks" works.

The crowd is a genuine mix: tourists who aren't done yet, girls from other bars finishing shifts, freelancers, and a few expats who've been coming for years and know all the words to the songs. If you're a first-timer, do the go-go bars first (see the guide to how go-go bars work), then finish here.

Stable tip: pay as you go after midnight. Big rooms plus late hours plus a running tab is how "how did I spend that much?" mornings happen.

Insomnia: quick answers

What time does Insomnia in Angeles City close?

+
Around 05:00 most nights as of August 2026, which is later than nearly everything else on Walking Street. It opens in the late afternoon but is quiet until well after midnight — the real crowd arrives once the go-go bars close.

Is there a cover charge at Insomnia?

+
Usually not. Some online listings mention entry fees, but as a rule you walk in and buy a drink. Special events can change that, so ask at the door if in doubt.

What kind of music does Insomnia play?

+
Mostly 80s and 90s rock and pop — a deliberate contrast to the EDM in the bigger go-go bars. Expect themed nights through the week, including a country-and-western night.
