Angel Witch — Angelwitch on some signs — is the rock ’n’ roll bar on Fields Avenue right at the mouth of Walking Street, a few doors from Kokomos, on the avenue proper rather than inside the pedestrian stretch. It has been there for well over twenty years, which on this street makes it a heritage building, and reviews from January 2025 and January 2026 have it as busy as ever. Not to be confused with the old Devil Witch, which was a different room further in on the strip.
This is not a go-go bar and doesn’t pretend to be. It’s a hostess bar with a rock soundtrack: live rock some nights, a DJ others, a pool table, a well-stocked back bar and a food menu that comes over from Kokomo’s nearby, so you can get a burger with your beer at three in the morning. The girls sit and chat rather than dance in rotation, the crowd is a friendly mix of locals, expats and tourists, and the decor is what a reviewer generously called eclectic — thirty years of rock posters and souvenirs.
The reason everyone knows it is the hours. Listings put it at 14:00 to 04:00; the Google entry says open 24 hours; reviewers simply say ‘open all night — best place to go after everything else is closed’. When the go-go bars on the strip start pulling shutters at three, this is where the stragglers wash up, and there are always customers inside.
Prices are fair for the location — local beer around ₱100–140 and ladies’ drinks from about ₱280 as of August 2026, no cover. One thing the reviews mention often enough that I’ll pass it on as general advice: be clear when you order for the girls that you’re buying a single ladies’ drink, not a double, and say so before the glass arrives. That goes for every hostess bar in town; here it just comes up in the comments a lot.
Harry remembers Angel Witch when it was the loudest thing on that corner and Kokomos was the only place open past midnight. It hasn’t changed much, and that’s the compliment. If you like your bars with a jukebox soul, a cue in your hand and no closing time to speak of, this is your local.
