Viking Bar is the one that looks like a longship — a wooden, ship-shaped frontage on Walking Street that’s been a photo stop for tourists for as long as most of us can remember, a fair way along the strip from the Fields Avenue entrance in the stretch around Champagne and Shooterz.
The theme carries on inside and out: timber finish, a bit of Norse kitsch, greeters in costume out front pulling in the passers-by. Inside you get the usual go-go set-up — a stage with a rotating line-up of dancers, plus a hostess crew who sit and chat once you’ve bought a drink. It’s a mid-sized room, not a Dollhouse-scale hangar, and on a good night the mix is a lot of Korean groups, tourists doing the strip, and a few expats who like the theme.
A word on the crowd and the reviews. Viking has for years drawn a lot of Korean custom, and online reviews are, let’s say, mixed — you’ll read complaints about bills and service alongside people who had a fine time. My take is generic Walking Street advice rather than a verdict on this bar: pay as you go on your first visit, keep the receipts, count your change, and be clear whether you’re buying a single or a double ladies’ drink. Do that and the ship stays upright.
Hours: the directories have it opening in the early afternoon and running until around 03:00–04:00, which is later than many. Prices are mid-range for the strip — a local beer in the ₱120–160 bracket and ladies’ drinks around ₱300 upwards as of August 2026, no cover. It gets busy from around ten like everywhere else.
Harry remembers when the Viking facade went up and half the strip laughed at it. It’s outlasted a lot of them. If nothing else it’s the easiest landmark on Walking Street for saying ‘meet me outside’ — and a decent place to duck in for one and see the show. Whether you stay is between you and the crew on board.
