Hangout — Hang Out on the older listings, two words, no pretence — is a small beer bar on Perimeter Road, the fence road that Angeles calls Don Juico Avenue when it's being formal. It's been in the Perimeter directories since the mid-2010s and it was on the "open" list in the early-2021 round-up that I use as my baseline for this stretch, which makes it one of the road's quiet survivors. I don't have a fresh 2026 sighting from two independent sources, so it's marked unverified; I'd still expect to find it.
The name is the review. This is a place to hang out: a counter, some stools, a few tables, a fridge of San Miguel, a screen with something on it, and a small staff of ladies who'll chat if you want and leave you alone if you don't. Whether it runs a formal ladies'-drink system on any given night depends on who's working; some Perimeter rooms of this size are straightforward beer bars, some are hostess bars with a beer-bar sign, and Hangout has been described in both directions. Either way there is no stage, and either way the beer is cheap.
Prices, my August 2026 estimate for the small bars along here: roughly ₱80–120 for a San Mig Light and ₱150–260 for a ladies' drink if you buy one. Pay as you go. Hours on this stretch tend to start mid-afternoon and run to about one or two — Hangout has always struck me as more of an afternoon-and-early-evening room than a late one, but check.
Who's in it: Perimeter Road's own — expats who live along the road, guests from the Clarkton and the ABC and the little hotels, retired servicemen, and the occasional first-timer who has come out from Fields Avenue looking for a quiet, cheap seat and found one. Conversation is the entertainment. If you're a talker you'll do well; if you're not, bring a book, nobody will mind.
Harry says: every stretch of bar road needs a room that isn't trying, and on Perimeter that's Hangout. I've lost afternoons in there that I don't regret. It won't make anyone's top ten and it doesn't want to; it wants a cold beer in front of you and the fan pointed your way, and most days it manages both.
