Red Planet Clark Angeles City is the Angeles outpost of the no-frills Red Planet chain (it started life as a Tune Hotel), sitting on Don Juico Avenue — Perimeter Road — in Malabañas, about eight minutes' walk from the Walking Street arch and a fifteen-minute drive from Clark airport. It does exactly what a budget chain box does: a small clean-ish room, a big bed, a power shower with plenty of hot water, quiet air-con, fast Wi-Fi and a 24-hour front desk. Nothing else.
There's no pool, no gym, no bar. There's a small restaurant-cafe area for a basic breakfast (extra) and a business corner nobody uses. Rooms are compact and windows are small; the design is functional Scandinavian-lite with a bit of red paint. Reviews are the mixed bag you'd expect: a lot of "clean, safe, great water pressure, friendly staff, perfect location for the price", and a persistent minority in 2025 reporting mould, bugs and tired fittings. My read is that it varies by room and by how recently housekeeping has been through — inspect, and ask to move if it's not right. They generally will.
Rates are the point: booking sites showed roughly ₱1,200–1,500 a night in low season (Aug 2026), sometimes less midweek. For a solo bloke who's out from dusk till dawn and needs a shower and a bed, that's hard to argue with.
Guest policy: I couldn't find a clear, current statement in August 2026. Red Planet as a chain tends to want every occupant registered and may charge for an extra person; some guest-friendly lists include the Angeles property without detail. Ask at the desk, expect an ID request for any visitor, and don't be surprised by an extra-guest charge if the room is booked for one.
Noise: moderate on the road side. Who it suits: the budget traveller who wants a chain's predictability and a location that's walkable to both Fields Avenue and the Perimeter Road bars, and who couldn't care less about a pool. Not the place for a romantic week.
