Kaya Korean Restaurant is one of the older names among the dozens of Korean kitchens strung along Friendship Highway in Anunas — the strip everyone calls Korea Town, which runs from the Clark main gate area west past the golf courses. Angeles City has had a big Korean population since the 1990s, and the payoff for the rest of us is proper Korean barbecue at Philippine prices, ten minutes by trike from Fields Avenue.
The drill is the same as Seoul: a grill set into the table, a waitress who does the cutting and turning, and a spread of banchan — kimchi, pickled radish, seasoned spinach, little omelettes — that keeps getting refilled. Order marinated galbi (short rib) or samgyeopsal (thick pork belly), a bowl of doenjang jjigae to share, and a bottle or three of soju or Cass. Bibimbap and cold naengmyeon are there for anyone not in a grilling mood. As of Aug 2026 you should budget roughly ₱700–900 a head for a proper barbecue feed with drinks; a lunch of bibimbap or a stew is a lot less.
Korea Town restaurants are mostly Korean-run and Korean-patronised, which is exactly why they're good, but it also means English can be thin and menus occasionally aren't translated — pointing works. Most open for lunch and run until about ten. Kaya sits within a few hundred metres of the Korean KTVs and bars, so it's a sensible first stop on a night out this side of town.
Caveat: Korea Town turns over and I couldn't confirm Kaya's exact address and hours from two current sources for August 2026 — check the Maps link or ask your trike driver, who will know a good galbi place regardless.
