Pacific Breeze Hotel & Resort has been on Vian Street, a few doors up from Score Birds and about four minutes' walk from Walking Street, since long before most of the current bar owners arrived. It's a low-rise, garden-and-pool sort of place from the 1990s school of Angeles hotels, and it has aged into something comfortable rather than glamorous.
The pool is the reason to book it: big, clean, properly maintained, with sun loungers that aren't fighting for space and a poolside bar that opens early enough for a hangover beer. Weekday afternoons it's often near-empty, which for some of us is the whole appeal. The Lanai restaurant does international food, breakfast included on most rates — decent eggs, average coffee, and reviews are split on the rest of the menu, so eat out for dinner. Kokomos and Margarita Station are two minutes' walk.
Rooms are large and bright, and the good ones have been refreshed; the fittings in others are, as one reviewer put it, "a bit old". You'll get a working air-con, hot water, a fridge, a flat-screen and free Wi-Fi that's fine for video calls. It's a 3-star that behaves like a 3-star, and at low-season rates from around ₱1,900–2,300 (Aug 2026) that's honest pricing.
Guest policy: as reported by guests over the years and repeated in the guest-friendly listings as of August 2026, if you make a new friend you can bring her back with ID at the desk and no additional charge or fuss. Staff are described as friendly and helpful with a shrug-and-smile approach.
Noise: modest. Vian Street is a side street, and the pool area quietens down after ten most nights — the party is at Score Birds next door, not here. Who it suits: the returning visitor who wants a pool, space and proximity without paying resort money, and the over-50 traveller who values calm and a short walk over marble lobbies. Ask about weekly rates if you're staying longer; they've traditionally been open to a deal.
