Razon's of Guagua started as a roadside stall in the Pampanga town of Guagua in 1972 and grew into the province's most famous halo-halo, and the Balibago branch on MacArthur Highway — the main road at the bottom of Fields Avenue, near the Dau end — is the cheap local eatery closest to the strip that I'd actually send you to. There are further branches at SM City Clark and Marquee Mall as of Aug 2026, but the highway shop is the handy one.
Razon's halo-halo is famous for what it leaves out. Where the usual version is a kitchen-sink of beans, jellies and jackfruit, Razon's is just finely shaved ice, sweetened milk, macapuno (soft coconut sport), leche flan and sweet banana — creamy, restrained and, on a 35-degree Angeles afternoon, close to medicinal. Around ₱120–150 a glass as of Aug 2026. Everyone orders it; most people order it twice.
The savoury side is a short Kapampangan menu done well: pancit luglug (thick noodles under an orange shrimp sauce with crushed chicharon), dinuguan (pork blood stew — better than it sounds, ask any Filipino) with puto, tapa and rice meals, and empanadas. Two people eat lunch and a halo-halo each for around ₱400. No beer — this is a family place with air-conditioning, fast service and staff who've seen every kind of foreigner walk in.
It's open daytime into the evening, so it fits neatly between a late breakfast and the bars. Hours drift and branches come and go, so confirm on the Maps link. Then go for the halo-halo. Then go back.
